Food for Shiny Hair

Of course we all want healthy and shiny hair. You can immediately jump in the shower and try out six different products for shiny hair, but you could also turn your shower off and pay your supermarket a visit. By eating specific products your hair will get shinier as well.

Remember, before dedicating your entire life completely to shiny hair-recipes, too much is never good!

1. Eggs
Eggs are filled with proteins and are thus used often in hair masks. Eating eggs also increases your protein levels, regardless of being cooked, baked or scrambled.


2. Green vegetables
Green vegetables are a great source of minerals. For example spinach, broccoli and chard are great for shiny hair, they contain lots of iron and calcium.


3. Beans
Beans contain proteins and minerals that stimulate hair growth. Especially brown beans, black beans and lentils should not be skipped! Toss them into a salade or mix them into a curry.


4. Carrots
Carrots contain vitamine A, they not only ensure a healthy scalp, but are also good for your vision.


5. Omega-3
Omega-3 fat acids are the most important nutrients for healthy hair. They’re necessary for maintaining a healthy scalp. A shortage can result in a dry scalp and thus dry hair. Salmon, avocado’s and nuts should be stocked in your cupboard.


6. Poultry
Chicken and turkey contain high quality proteins. With a shortage of proteins there’s a chance at weak, fragile hair. A severe shortage can even lead to loss of hair color!
