5 Things You Didn’t Know yet about Your LinkedIn Profile
Besides our often used Facebook account we now also all have a LinkedIn profile. It can help with maintaining connections and it can offer some help in the search of a new job. The better the profile, the easier you will be found and the more positive potential employers will appreciate you. We’ve made a list of the five things that will help you with this and that you probably didn’t know yet about your LinkedIn profile.

1. Adding a good profile picture.
We don’t really have any difficulty with finding a nice profile picture, but LinkedIn is not the place for your Facebook party pics. When adding a professional portrait photo to your account, the chances of your profile being viewed increase seven times.

2. Adding your two most recent functions
By adding your two most recent functions, the chance your profile will be found is an incredible twelve times higher. You better start updating!

3. The number in your profile-URL
Always wanted to know whether you were actually the 200 millionth member of LinkedIn? You can! The number in your profile-URL indicates, out of all 225 million members, when exactly you became a member.

4. Your profile-URL
If you want to make it even easier for people to find you, you can change your profiles URL in a more personal, stronger and better findable link. Right from the current URL (beneath your profile pic) you can click edit. The new URL would look like this: linkedin.com/in/yourname.

5. Add your own ‘headline’
Your headline is automatically your current function, but it could be used much better to describe yourself differently. Your job as an ‘Account manager’ for example could be changed to ‘Experienced strategic project manager in the car industry’. This way the chance you’ll be found it is even bigger.
