Strangest Places in the World
The strangest things are invented for film scripts. But it can get stranger: in real-life. On our own earth there are places that are more unrealistic than Disney, stranger than science fiction and scarier than horror. Some of these locations are still inhabited. Would you dare to visit?

1. Izu Islands
On the coast of Japan, there is a group of islands where people need to live behind a mask. The group of islands was formed by many volcanic islands. Thereby there was a lot of sulfur in the air. The islands were evacuated, but the residents moved back. Can you believe it? Although, with a mask you never have to worry about a pimple or wrinkle again.

2. Neft Dashlari
It started as an oil platform, but it expanded to an entire city in Azerbaijan. The residents live on a kind of enormous bridge, at least 34 miles from the nearest shore. That doesn’t make it easy to hop to a shop.

3. Gate town building
What do you do if there need to be a building and a highway at the same place? The answer: you build a highway right through a building. The building and the highway are completely separated, but looks like they're one. Great if you like to work in peace in your office.

4. Manshiyat Naser
We throw it away, but an entire community on the coast of Caïro lives on trash. Their entire economic system is based on collecting and sorting garbage.

5. Linfen
In China you can find the most contaminated metropolis. The air of the city was so contaminated that the residents could barely see their own hands. Nowadays the air is much cleaner thanks to drastic actions against contamination.
