DIY: Feather Extensions
Last year the trend of feather hair extensions began. But in the summer of 2013 the trend is still going on. If you like to have too, you can do it yourself. A lot cheaper! On elisamclaughlin.com we found an easy tutorial to follow. The only things you need are:
- A pliers
- A ring with a silicone on the inside
- A little piece of a fishing line
- And a couple of feathers of course
You can get those things in a DIY store.

This is how you do it:
Hold the feathers on different places in your hair so you can see which place looks best on you. Grab a small lock of your hear and comb the rest of your hair to the side. Push the fishing line in a loop through the ring, so you’ll have the loop at one side and the ends of the fishing line on the other side of the ring. Put the lock of hair through the loop. Pull at both ends of the fishing line at the same time so your hair will slide through the ring. Pull the ring on to the scalp. Put the feather in the ring together with your hair. When you have done that, you can hold the feathers with one hand and you can press the ring with the pliers with the other hand. The extension is fully secured now.
Don’t you like the extension anymore? You can remove them easily by pressing the ring in the opposite direction with the pliers.
