Book about Marc Dutroux' Wife
Marc Dutroux is one of Europe's most infamous child rapists and serial killers. A fact that not everyone knew, is that he has a wife who knew about his crimes, but did not do anything to help his victims. Even when there were still two young girls locked up in the dungeon underneath Dutroux' house, she would come over to feed the dogs but leave the girls to starve.
There is now a book written about Michelle Martin, Dutroux' wife, titled The woman who fed the dogs, which has caused quite a stirr. Writer Kristien Hemmerechts, wants her book to 'show what could have gone on inside the head of Michelle Martin'. Does she give a monstrous woman a human face and is could this book therefore better not have been written, or is it a good way to show what (horrible things) human beings can do?
