Girl Has Stomach Removed after Bad Cocktail

Liquid nitrogen is often added to cocktails to create a funky smoke effect. For the 18 year old Gaby Scanlon, the additive had another effect. It perforated her stomach, which had to be almost completely removed. After drinking two ‘Nitro Jagermeister’ cocktails she felt unwell and was rushed to hospital. 

Liquid nitrogen is not only used in cocktails, but also in the moleculair kitchen. Normally, the nitrogen itself does not remain in any food or drinks, but that’s where experts suspect something went wrong for Gaby. Poor girl.
