Act like a Millionaire!
You might wonder around parties with the intention of making connections every now and again. Maybe you don’t really feel in the right place there, with all those successful or rich people. For that reason we’ve got some tips to help you pretend being a millionaire, without actually being one. To really fit in it needs to appear you belong to their social circles. The tips all come from the book “The millionaire’s handbook: how to look and act like a millionaire – even if you’re not”.
1. Follow the one third rule
You want to look good, but you’re not loaded with money to buy expensive clothes. The solution: buy expensive clothes, but only buy one third of the amount you’d normally buy. So you’ll have three times as much money to spend. Instead of multiple cheaper dresses, you’ll buy one expensive one that you’ll just wear more often.
2. Never wear flat shoes
Flat shoes are of course a lot more comfortable, which is exactly the reason we thing people with flat shoes are old and are just plodding. Which is something we millionaires never do!
3. Make yourself seem taller
People that look tall seem to have more authority and appear more trustworthy. Buy clothes and shoes that make you seem taller.
4. Find a hobby
A hobby gets you in contact with people with the same interests. Don’t just get into tennis or horseback riding, rich people often have their own tennis courts and stables. Try something like skiing, no one is ever rich enough they’ll be able to buy their own ski slope, so it’s ideal!
5. Get enough sleep
Make sure you get enough sleep every night, but first determine how much sleep you actually need. Write in a sleep journal and see after how many hours you’re not only most productive, but also when you’ve got the best skin. Try to maintain a steady sleep schedule, even on the weekends!
6. Lose your accent
This goes for everybody, except for people with a genuine English accent.
7. Always stick to the dress code
You need to play the game, if you don’t stick to the dress code, you’ll never win.
8. Watch your accessories
Everything you wear, take with you or name gets connected to you. So make sure a brand sends out the right values. This is not just about that designer dress, but also about the coffee you’re drinking out on the street!
9. Be well-mannered
At a certain point in your life it is expected of you that you’re well-mannered. People will think more of you than when you’re always being rude.
