Ingredients For in the Freezer

We love freezing food. You can freeze it when you’ve made too much, defrost it when you’re not feeling like cooking, eat summer fruit in the winter, save stuff for later use, ideal! Secretly you can freeze a lot more stuff than you’d think, so we advise you to go out and buy yourself a bigger freezer! You probably hadn’t expected you would be able to freeze these things:

1. Cheese
Before using it, make sure it’s fully defrosted. If you want to freeze grated cheese you’d best add a spoon of cornstarch or flour, so it won’t lump.

2. Butter
Butter is also really good for freezing. If it’s not yet totally defrosted you could also just grate it!

3. Milk and juice
Milk and juice can easily be frozen, as long as you leave enough room for it to expand.

4. Vegetables and fruit
Ideal for when you still want to enjoy those summer strawberries in the winter. As far as fruit goes especially bananas, red fruits and grapes are good for freezing. Most vegetables can be frozen, just take a look at the freezer section in your supermarket.

5. Pesto
It’s ideal to freeze pesto in an ice cube mould, that way you’ll have the perfect doses quantities.

6. Pancakes and waffles
Make sure they lie straight, because they can break, which is not so pretty to the eye.

7. Marinated meat
When you take it out of the freezer to defrost the meat will keep on marinating, which will make it even better!

8. Tomato puree
Just like pesto, ideal in an ice cube mould, for the perfect quantity.

9. Smoothies
Just like juice very easy to freeze. Easy for when you want to bring one to work in the morning.

10. Coffee
Grinded coffee or coffee beans are excellent for freezing to keep them fresh longer.
