Trend From Korea: Surgery to Smile
According to Koreans a smile is absolutely the most important thing to make a good impression. Even though we don’t actually disagree with this, they are going a bit far to ensure they always, but I mean always, have a mile on their face.
That’s why they came up with the Smile Lipt, made of the very complex (?) composition of the words lip and lift. This surgery ensures that the muscles of the corners of your mouth no longer pull down by cutting them. Besides that the muscles that make the corners of your mouth curl up become stronger.
An advantage of this surgery is that from then on, you look like you’re smiling, without actually making the effort of actually smiling, so you still have a good image. Apparently the Koreans have lots of trouble with sincere smiling… We sure enjoy a smile, but as soon as you start looking like the Joker, it’s going a little far…
We’re pretty sure this last photo has been photoshopped, but it doesn’t seem unimaginable that this trend will eventually look like that, seeing as it’s Korean. Well, at least we’ll never have to worry about bitchy resting face again!
