Period T-shirt

American Apparel has a very special T-shirt in the collection. On this shirt you zoom in on a women's vagina, who is clearly having her period. It's easy to scream 'Yikes!' - which happened a lot on the internet. You can also wonder what the makers of this shirt, artist Petra Collins and illustrator Alice Lancaster intended with it.

Collins told Time magazine that she is interested in things that remain hidden in our culture, like masturbation and menstruation. What do you think of this period T-shirt: hot or not?
