Diet of our Great Grandparents
The Paleo diet is based on the diet of our great-great-great-grandparents who lived 10.000 to 250.000 years ago. With this diet you can eat: fish, meat from grass eaters, vegetables, fruit and nuts. Grains are banned, just like vegetables, dairy products, refined sugar and processed oils. A lot of people believe it is a healthy way of living for many of us. Curious? Try some snacks that fit into the paleo diet.

- Cauliflower popcorn made from cauliflower fried in olive oil.
- Proscuitto with melon. An old fashion recipe that is almost in every restaurant still on the menu. Just like asparagus wrapped in prosciutto and shrimp cocktail.

- Another easy to make paleo approved snack is an egg muffin.
- Grilled or roasted sweet potato. It looks like a regular potato, but actually it’s an exotic piece of fruit, plus it contains less carbs and tastes better. You can prepare it the same way as you are used to regular potatoes.

- Paleo-pizza bites are thinly sliced salami circles covered with tomato sauce, paprika and mushrooms. Instead of salami you can also use zucchini as the base.
- You even can eat chicken wings marinated in chili and lime.
- Kale chips. Fry kale in hot oil and it turns into healthy chips.
- For a sweet snack moment you can grill peach in a pan and bake it on both sides.
