Jennifer Aniston Brain cell
Did you know you will always recognize Jennifer Aniston? Even as a badly drawn caricature, even disguised with glasses, a moustache and a wig, and even her voice will always be recognized. Our brain appears to have a special interest in miss Aniston. Research shows you have a special Jennifer Aniston-cell in your brain. This cell’s only job (and a very important one indeed) is to recognize Jennifer Aniston. Basically everyone (even Jennifer Aniston herself) would be in possession of this cell.

What we’re talking about is the so-called “grandmother cell”, a neuron that shows activity when you’re confronted with you grandma, and that you have multiple variants of. In 2005, Professor Rodrigo Quian Quiroga showed a test person a whole bunch of pictures of Jennifer Aniston, it then became evident that there was a cell that only responded when confronted with Jennifer Aniston. The cell was remarkably less interested in say Brad Pitt or the Eifel Tower. The cell also recognizes Jennifer when she’s disguised.

Jen is not the only one with her own cell, Halle Berry, Bill Clinton, the Simpsons and the Beatles are also extra important according to our brain. Note that the cell only works by recognition; you have to know who Jennifer Aniston, Bill Clinton or the Beatles are in order to recognize them.
