Result of Sleeping With Your Make-up on

We’ve heard and read it plenty of times, sleeping with your make-up on is bad. Still, after a long day or a long night out clubbing, we’re not always able to drag ourselves to the bathroom to remove our make-up. Journalist Anna Purslove from The Daily Mail wanted to figure out how bad it could really be for your skin. As an experiment she didn’t remove her make-up for a month. She went to bad with her make-up still on, washed her face in the shower in the morning, but without any cleansing products and then she applied new make-up over the remains.

After a couple of days she already noticed her skin feeling very dry and looking a bit flaky. Her eyelashes were glued together into one big super eyelash, which made applying a new layer very difficult. One morning she even woke up with a swollen eye, because there had probably been an eyelash with mascara on it stuck in there. After a month she went back to the dermatologist to see the difference.

The surface of her skin on her forehead and the right side of her face was around ten per cent worse, on the left side that was about twenty per cent, which is because she sleeps on her left side. Because the skin can’t renew beneath the layer of make-up, her skin is uneven and dull. She didn’t get more wrinkles, but the ones she had were deeper.

The experts estimated her skin about ten years older, in just one month! You’ll probably never sleep with your make-up on again after seeing this picture, we sure do know better now!
