Foreign Food
Are you also a big fan of Chinese fortune cookies, English muffins and German chocolate cake? Then you, just like us, have been fooled. There are a couple of products of which we think they come from a certain country, but there are some big lies going around about them. It’s a fact that the only country that doesn’t think fortune cookies are Chinese is… china. English muffins have been created in New York, but apparently England is more fancy. We’re are, as we speak, questioning all our food…

Fortune cookies are not Chinese, they were actually invented in California (by a Japanese man).

English muffins were invented in New York City.

Russian dressing is invented in New Hampshire, it’s named Russian because it originally included a Russian ingredient: caviar.

French dip sandwich is not French. In France, they don’t even know what it is. It is however done with French baguette.

French toast is also not French, it's been around way longer than the country exists.

German chocolate cake is not German, but named after American chocolate maker Sam German.

Last but not least, something may be as American as apple pie, but apple pie is not. It’s English.
