Healthy Holiday

During your holiday you can have the tendency to be a little less strict with food, drinks and exercise. To make sure you won’t come home with too many holiday pounds and you’ll stay healthy during your holiday, I have a couple of tips for you to remember!

Cocktails
A good cocktail is the best holiday drink! But watch it, because these delicacies can contain over 200 calories per drink. Try not to drink too many and alternate with for example water with a piece of lemon. Click here to calculate how many calories an alcoholic drink contains.


Ice cream
Ice cream is of course the best part of the summer. Are those ice cream carts yelling your name? Go for a popsicle instead of dairy ice cream. Those contain a lot more fat and calories.


Snacks
Are you going on an excursion, a day to the beach or on a bus tour? Bring a couple of healthy snacks. Instead of a bag of chips, a chocolate bar of candy, buy some pieces of fruit, a bag of almonds or carrots in the supermarket. Bring this to prevent an unhealthy snack attack.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner
On holiday it is of course great to spoil yourself every meal, but that’s where a lot of people go wrong. Try eating normally with vegetables, carbohydrates and a little meat or fish. Keep a steady rhythm like you’d do at home and treat yourself on something a little less healthy every couple of meals when you’d like.
