When Not To Work Out
Of course we’re a big fan of the bad excuses when we’re not feeling like working out, but sometimes we need to be a bit more serious. At some moments it is absolutely not good for your body to undergo a heavy workout. These are the moments you should look out for.

1. When having flu-like symptoms
We’re talking about the symptoms that occur below the neck, for example a nasty cough, aching joints or an upset stomach. Working out with a headache is fine, it can even get rid of it! With flu-like symptoms there’s a big chance you body is fighting a bacteria or flu-infection. If you also decide to work out there’s a chance your body will need a much longer recovery time.

2. When you have extreme muscle soreness
A little muscular pain is good, it means you’re getting more muscles and stronger. But if you’re suffering extreme muscle soreness, usually starting one or two days after the workout, it’s a different story. You’ll notice the difference, it you’re suffering extreme muscle soreness you’ll probably have trouble moving at all, so just skip that heavy workout for the day!

3. After a heavy meal
Your body circulates blood to the places where it’s most needed. If you work out after a heavy meal your stomach and muscles will have to compete, and most of the time your muscles will win this fight. The result of this is stomach cramps, gas and diarrhea.

4. When it’s really hot
If the weather ‘feels’ like it’s over 32 degrees, it’s too hot to work out outside. You can better exercise in a gym with air-conditioning or work out early in the morning or late at night, when it’s a little cooler.
